This FREE ADMISSION family event is designed to help promote British sheep farming through education. After three fantastic sheep fairs in Ashbourne we have been invited by Uttoxeter Town Council to take our Sheep Fair over the border into Staffordshire and we have graciously taken up this offer.
The First Uttoxeter Sheep Fair will take place on Saturday 13th July 2019 from 10am – 5pm. This event will see the largest number of sheep in Uttoxeter town centre since the closure of the cattle market in November 2005. The fair will be located along the High Street and on the Market Place. We intend to have a row of back-to-back sheep pens running along the High Street displaying a range of different breeds of sheep. Regular talks will be given about the different breeds, their qualities and their uses.
Once again we are hoping for over 15 breeds of sheep on display plus entertainment throughout the day including live music from the Vernon Travellers, sheep shearing demonstrations, wool spinning demonstrations, fresh food stalls, craft stalls, a series of mock auctions, sheep talks and much more.
